Troop 168 Internet Guidelines

Purpose:

Troop 168, Southlake, TX ("Troop168") maintains an Internet website for the purpose of sharing information. The Adult Leadership of Troop 168 is committed to ensuring the safety of your Scout. As such, this document provides Troop 168's guidelines for our official use of the Internet.

Guidelines:

  1. Rosters, meeting minutes, agendas, patrol lists, award recipients, etc will not document the address, phone number, or any other personal information that could be used by persons with questionable motives. These documents can be published without the expressed permission of the Scout's parent or guardian.

  2. While publishing identifiable pictures (close up pictures with a Scout's unobstructed face clearly viewable) is discouraged, these pictures often best capture the spirit and excitement of scouting. All pictures with identifiable Scouts that are considered for publication will be reviewed by the Adult Leadership of Troop 168.

  3. No picture will be maintained on the website that, in the opinion of a Scout, parent/guardian, or Troop Committee member compromises Christian or Scouting values.

  4. Decisions regarding publishing the photos of Adult Leaders will be determined by the Unit Committee. These pictures may be published, with or without identifying names, so long as the pictures are beneficial to extending the ideals of Scouting and encourage parental participation in the Unit.
